Candle Care Guide

Our Crackling Wooden Wicks burn a little different to traditional style wicks, so here are three little tips to ensure the best burn for your candle.

Tip 1 - The first burn is the most important!
When you light the candle for the first time, make sure you leave the candle lit for long enough to allow the wax to melt across the whole surface, this usually takes around 2-3 hours - failing to do this will result in tunnelling on the candle and an uneven burn.

Tip 2 - Light the wick from the bottom

When lighting, tilt the candle and light the wick from the bottom and let the flame rise. Unlike a traditional wick, it needs to draw the wax through the wick to get going.

Tip 3 - trim the wick

After the first burn trim the wick to 5mm before lighting, this will ensure the candle burns evenly. If you don't have a proper wick trimmer, nail clippers or snips work just as well.
